Pyle-Pro PDWM2550 19'' Rack Mount Dual VHF Wireless Rechargeable Handheld Microphone System

I got these mics thinking they would last if I took really good care, but noooo, only after 3 uses, one of the mics needs to be recharged every 2 minutes, and the power on the console won't stay on. I had to tape it down in order to make it stay on. And all this happend only 7 days after I could return it.

I like this kit included 2 microphones. It makes it easier to increase crowd participation, without giving up my mic, and maintain control of the event. The wireless system works good over all, nice voice reception and limited cross-over between mics. In my opinion, this is a pretty good system worth the money.

received the product really quickly upon order. Everything appears to be working exactly as intended. one slight nit, like another reviewer mentioned, is that even though this is supposed to be stackable, the chargers' are right on top of the unit, so you can't actually stack anything, and you need to leave enough room on top of the unit in order to fit the entire length of the mic. not a problem for me since I don't need to put anything on top of it. a suggestion would be to have a separate charger.

Jasmine By Takamine S34C NEX Acoustic Guitar

First the bad: this guitar came with low quality strings that were corroded and unplayable in my opinion. The first thing that I did before even playing it was to change the strings.

If you are a beginner this may be a problem unless you know someone who can do it for you. If not, I suggest you purchase a string winder (B0002E1G5C), a set of good strings (B0002H09RU) and a guitar tuner (B003VWJ2K8.) Find a web page or YouTube video that explains how to change the strings on an acoustic guitar. However you may get a guitar with a shiny set of new strings that sound great and this won't be a problem. But you will need the stuff that I mentioned later if you keep up with your playing. Actually if you are a beginner you will need a guitar tuner -- buy one with your guitar. You will never sound like you are making progress with an out-of-tune guitar.

The good: This is a surprisingly nice guitar for very little money. I needed a "crasher" guitar that I wouldn't feel guilty if I bumped it around and a second Takamine guitar for a gift. I purchased this along with the slightly less expensive Jasmine By Takamine S35 Acoustic Guitar (B0002F58TG). This guitar has a little better sound than the S35 -- deeper bass and crisper highs. Also different is the shape of this guitar's body which looks sleeker and cooler than the more traditional S35. Also this guitar has a cutaway for access to the higher frets and on my guitar the intonation up there was not bad.

Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2

I've had this controller for about a month now. I was expecting something a bit bigger and heavier but it's small size has some advantages. The virtual dj software that comes with it was disappointing only because it's the stripped down version. I had previously been using virtual dj pro v6 so it was a major downgrade. No worries though, because the console works flawlessly with pro v6. If you don't have it though, you might be a bit disappointed with the djc software that comes with it, especially if you have used something more professional. One advantage the more expensive controllers have is their built in sound cards, but this is easily solved by purchasing a USB sound card. I picked up a the small Creative FX one for $50. There are less expensive ones but I decided the quality was worth it since it's the one I use for the output, and I use my laptop's built in sound card for the headphones. The biggest gripe I have with it goes back to the size. The sliders are too close to jog wheels. A problem the mk2 model had as well. The sliders could have more resistance to them as well but overall I am pleased with it. It was a good deal for the money. A more serious dj would want a higher end model like the steel or rmx.

The Hercules DJ Control mp3 e2 is an outstanding product!!! Even though it is made mostly of plastic, the device itself feels very well built and durable and light. The product comes with the device, manual, usb cord, and the cd. The only problem I had was that I had to install the drivers twice because the first time it did not work, but after a second try it worked perfectly! Since I am just a beginner dj, the program that came with it is just enough for what I want to do. Maybe in a year or two, I might upgrade to the PRO version but for now, the program is just fine for me!!! I also love that it came with a handy cover; perfect for transporting! Another thing that is great about this product is how much fun it is to use, and how easy it is to use!!! The buttons lighting up is great feature as well! The conclude my review, I would like to congratulate Hercules for creating such an outstanding product!!! I look forward to buying more of their products in the future. MXL MXL 990 Condenser Microphone with Shockmount

It's hard to beat this mic on price. I have one and often use it for home recording projects, demos and such. It's a good inexpensive way to record vocals, but I find the sound a bit muddy, and often come back with eq to turn down some of the low-mid frequencies. Now there are a number of condensers coming out in this low price range, and I've tried a few of them and haven't yet found a cheap one I like any better than this. For finished products, I'd use a better mic if available, but this one will work with a bit of EQ and a careful ear.

The mic requires phantom power, so I got the Art Tube MP preamp to go with it. That preamp warms up the sound and really helps this mic out compared to the built-in mic pre-amps on my board.

I have two of these because they're SO cheap and use them mainly at home if I have a musical idea. One of the reviewers above mentioned it was a bit muddy which I totally agree with. But it's incredibly cheap and fairly detailed for that amount of money. I'm curious how it will hold up over years of use. Anyway, this is probably the perfect "step-up" mic for podcasts if you are currently recording with your computer's built-in mic or a radio shack dynamic mic. I would choose this over the m-audio mics- it feels slightly more durable.

The MXL 990 is one of many Chinese-manufactured condenser mics that suffer from two common problems - it is simultaneously ill-defined in the critical midrange and excessively harsh in the treble range. While the circuit used in the mic is quite clever and fairly well implemented, the sonic deficiencies lie within the condenser capsule and headbasket acoustics.

By and large, Chinese-manufactured mics use condenser capsules copied from classic Neumann designs. Unfortunately, these inexact copies fall short of delivering the magnificent midrange accuracy and smooth, sibilance-free top end Neumann capsules are known for. Most of the copied capsules deliver a sound that is often described as harsh, spitty, "eshy", sibilant or screechy. Poor headbasket acoustics compound the problems created by these capsules.

The MXL 990, like most microphones of its class, uses a multi-layer grille mesh headbasket. These multiple layers of mesh do protect the capsule from spittle and wind blasts - but at a cost. Multiple layer headbaskets have a very small percentage of open area in the grille. This means a great deal of sound is reflected back and forth between the capsule and headbasket. Cup your hands around your mouth or speak into a paper tube to get an exaggerated example of the standing wave artifacts caused by a restrictive headbasket.

Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone (White)

Okay, I own a lot of microphones. I am very picky when it comes to sound and I would gladly waste $40 in gas to return a microphone that just didn't have the sound I expect. I was delighted to hear the quality of this USB mic! It has a great clarity to it, without being "tinny" or "crispy", and without sacrificing on the lows either. No "boomy" or "hollow" sound, just a nice clean and full-range quality that I expect from my $500-range microphones (but thankfully, without having to fool with an audio interface or goofy proprietary driver software!) What a great find... plug it in and it is ready to record!!

If you are looking for an intelligent, clean, affordable microphone for voice-over projects, podcasts, quick-and-easy live recording (with your laptop, of course), or open-mic music composition before dragging all the gear out to record a full-blown multitrack, this is the best money can buy in this category. Not to mention, it looks great sitting on your desk! BLUE has definitely convinced me to buy again, solid construction and solid sound (and no stupid drivers like Samson's USB garbage). Maybe next I'll get a Bluebird or Baby Bottle, this company is worth a closer look now that I've heard the very smooth sound of their entry level -- BLUE has got my attention!!

I started a podcast series based on Shakespeare's works and on major works of English literature (SHAKESPodosphEARE) for my students in Cincinnati earlier this year, and I started with a cheap mic/headset. It did the trick for the early episodes; I was just exploring whether or not my students would find full-text readings and recorded lectures useful, and they did. As a result, I wanted to find a higher quality way to record both readings of his plays and my lectures, and the Snowball was the perfect solution. It's easy to use (plugs in to your USB port), can be transported from one locale to another easily, and is an economical way to get high quality audio recordings. I've used it mainly for voice, but I've since incorporated some music into the podcast, and it's done a nice job of picking up my acoustic guitar and students' vocals.

NB: I use Audacity (which is a free download), and an HP Tablet PC, and for some reason I needed to do a firmware upgrade because at first the Snowball wasn't picking up sound at a high enough volume. It is a pretty simple process if you're tech savvy. Go to Blue's website for details.

Kala KA-15S Mahogany Soprano Ukulele

My husband and I started playing ukulele this summer. We wanted small instruments to take camping. I was afraid the soprano would be too small, so I bought a concert size Kala in electric blue (I thought the color was fun). My hubby got a tenor Kala in Mahogany. Within a month I realized my shiny blue concert was too slippery and slid down my belly while playing in a standing position. I put a couple of small velcro squares on the back to prevent slipping but it didn't help much. I decided to get a soprano in Mahogany and ordered a Kala since the first two were well made.

When the soprano Kala it arrived I was happy to see it came with Aquila strings which are better quality than the original strings on the other two Kalas. We changed the strings on the other two ukes for Aquilas based on recommendations from seasoned uke players.

The soprano size is plenty big enough for me, although my husband says his big fingers have trouble fitting on the smaller neck after playing his tenor. The tone is snappy, and the workmanship is exceptional for such a cheap musical instrument. Since we now have three Kalas and none have flaws, I wholeheartedly recommend this brand.

I work at Eckroth Music in Bismarck, ND and we started receiving these ukuleles as a new product item to replace shabby, low-end ones we were getting from a different vendor, but at a similar price range. Boy, what a difference in quality! I wasn't a uke player until I started messing around with this one, and I bought my own KA-15S ukulele to get started because I love the tone and the quality construction of it. I have to admit that I didn't know the correct tuning, because the G string is higher then the C string right below it, and I ended up breaking my A string because I had it tuned an octave higher than I should have. Then I watched a Youtube video on how to re-string and tune the uke, and pretty soon I was learning to play a Queen song. Just fabulous.
