I've had this controller for about a month now. I was expecting
something a bit bigger and heavier but it's small size has some
advantages. The virtual dj software that comes with it was disappointing
only because it's the stripped down version. I had previously been
using virtual dj pro v6 so it was a major downgrade. No worries though,
because the console works flawlessly with pro v6. If you don't have it
though, you might be a bit disappointed with the djc software that comes
with it, especially if you have used something more professional. One
advantage the more expensive controllers have is their built in sound
cards, but this is easily solved by purchasing a USB sound card. I
picked up a the small Creative FX one for $50. There are less expensive
ones but I decided the quality was worth it since it's the one I use for
the output, and I use my laptop's built in sound card for the
headphones. The biggest gripe I have with it goes back to the size. The
sliders are too close to jog wheels. A problem the mk2 model had as
well. The sliders could have more resistance to them as well but overall
I am pleased with it. It was a good deal for the money. A more serious
dj would want a higher end model like the steel or rmx.
The
Hercules DJ Control mp3 e2 is an outstanding product!!! Even though it
is made mostly of plastic, the device itself feels very well built and
durable and light. The product comes with the device, manual, usb cord,
and the cd. The only problem I had was that I had to install the drivers
twice because the first time it did not work, but after a second try it
worked perfectly! Since I am just a beginner dj, the program that came
with it is just enough for what I want to do. Maybe in a year or two, I
might upgrade to the PRO version but for now, the program is just fine
for me!!! I also love that it came with a handy cover; perfect for
transporting! Another thing that is great about this product is how much
fun it is to use, and how easy it is to use!!! The buttons lighting up
is great feature as well! The conclude my review, I would like to
congratulate Hercules for creating such an outstanding product!!! I look
forward to buying more of their products in the future. I am NOT
